Steam Whistle Brewery Wedding
This beautiful Steam Whistle Brewery Wedding of my friends Leigh and David took place last year in August on a warm midsummers afternoon. Dave is a handsome young Brit from London who grew up in the north of England (and is what you would consider a bona fide “Geordie”), and Leigh, a gorgeous Torontonian, born and raised in Leslieville, with skin like porcelain and sapphire blue eyes. Their two families merged that night from across oceans and continents to celebrate this joyous event. The day and night were marked with many moments of laughter and tenderness, as their close friends recounted the story of Dave travelling all the way to Hong Kong to go on a date with a girl he’d never met (they had connected through mutual friends through Facebook), and how by going out on a limb and a leap of faith, Dave had found his future wife. Needless to say, having the wedding at a brewery was a big hit, especially with the out of towners, who bonded with their colonial cousins over many pints of ale and rounds of laughter into the wee hours of the night.
Getting to shoot Leigh and Dave’s wedding was a great opportunity, but also a huge responsibility, as I care about them both I wanted to make sure I captured this special day for them as a memento they could cherish forever… I don’t think my team and I let them down.
